Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries, many indivisuals preffer to spend money on establishing new railway tracks between cities .On the other side some citizens believe that money should be spend on improving existing public transportation. The indivisuals who said that money should be invest in constructing new railway tracks are argue that they can travel fast and the other people believe that everyone have easy access to public transport .In my opinion second option is best because i really think that its affordable and cheaper then railway tickets .
Initially ,some indivisuals argue that we should spend money on constructing new railway tracks so we can travel very fast between small cities .Moreover it hepls us to travel fast and save our precious time .In addition the students who want to study in univercities are easily go to their colleges and schools through trains and also their are more job opportunities .The beneficial change is that if citizens spend money on new railways however automatically the traffic congestion and pollution decreases rapidly because of lower fuel consumption .
On the other hand some people believe that money should be spend on existing public transport because they believe that if we spend more money on busses and other public transportation so its gonna affordable for middle class and poor indivisuals and also we can introduce modern busses include all basic needs for instance charging pots, tracking devices and air conditioners .
Overall, in my opinion the second option is best because its affordable for all type of indivisuals and also its hepl us to itntroduce modern technology .Moreover, easyly access to all peoples so its better then train stations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for improving existing public transport, especially in the introduction and conclusion. Relevant points include faster journeys, access to education and jobs, reduced congestion, affordability, and modern bus facilities. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained: for example, the link between new railways, lower fuel consumption, and reduced pollution needs clearer reasoning, and the benefits of upgrading existing services could be developed with a specific example. Your position is clear, but the comparison between the two options is not fully explored. To strengthen the response, explain who benefits from each investment and why your preferred option would be more effective overall.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. This makes the overall direction easy to follow, and phrases such as “On the other hand” help signal the contrast. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening combines several claims in one long sequence, while “The beneficial change is that…” does not clearly show how the point follows from the preceding discussion. The conclusion repeats the preference without bringing the comparison together, and “Moreover” introduces a fragment rather than a complete supporting point. Use clearer topic sentences, divide related claims into manageable sentences, and make each paragraph progress from its main idea to explanation or evidence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to transport and its effects, including “traffic congestion,” “pollution,” “fuel consumption,” and “charging” and “tracking” devices. These choices show an attempt to discuss the topic beyond basic terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “indivisuals,” “preffer,” “hepls,” and “itntroduce.” Some expressions are also imprecise or informal, such as “its gonna affordable” and “precious time.” Repetition of “fast,” “money,” and “individuals” limits the range. Aim to use accurate topic-specific collocations and vary repeated words; careful proofreading would also improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, errors occur across verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “money should be spend” should use a past participle, while “they can travel fast” is followed by “everyone have,” which has an agreement error. The sentence beginning “The individuals who said…” also has faulty verb patterns and becomes difficult to follow. Punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries are inconsistent. Practise building accurate complex sentences, especially with conditional clauses, and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms before submitting.
