Student answer (Band 5.0)
In a number of nations, some people think it is necessary to spend large amount of money on constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities. Others believe the money should be spent on improving public transportation. I party agree with this statement. developing new railways helps to improve the travelling of people and helps for the improving the economical growth with rapid services but investing on enhancing the existing public transport play important role for making the short terms services easily like electric bus, taxes etc which can be beneficial.
firstly, by making new railway lines for super fast trains improve the networks between cities without being delay in travelling. This saves lots of time to people and helps to save cost of people. For example people can get job opportunities lwhich helps to improve the gdp of the country. Secondly it helps tourist for travelling and visiting new place with developing the foreign currency and people visits more and more if service of moving is very consistant.
Public transport is easier to travelled than railway who avoid more people. Public transport is environmental friendly with minimum emissions without requirement of large investment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You introduce both options and give relevant reasons for each: fast rail is linked to quicker travel, jobs and tourism, while improved public transport is described as more environmentally friendly and less costly. However, the response addresses the task only partially. Your position, “I party agree with this statement,” is unclear, and the discussion of existing transport is limited to one brief paragraph without a developed comparison or example. The benefits of high-speed rail are also asserted rather than explained in detail. The response contains 165 words, so it is 85 words short of the 250-word minimum; 31 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop a clear opinion and support both sides with specific explanations and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organisation: the opening introduces the issue, “firstly” and “secondly” signal points about railways, and a final paragraph turns to public transport. These markers help readers identify the main topics. However, progression is limited, and the response ends without a conclusion that brings the discussion together or clearly restates your view. Several ideas are crowded into long sentences, particularly in the introduction, making the relationships between them difficult to follow. The railway paragraph also moves quickly from travel time to jobs and tourism without explaining the links. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect each reason to its consequence, and add a concluding paragraph. Check referencing too: “which” in the job-opportunity example has an unclear antecedent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “railway lines,” “public transportation,” “job opportunities,” “GDP,” and “minimum emissions,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “improve the travelling,” “helps for the improving the economical growth,” and “service of moving.” There are also spelling errors, including “consistant,” and an apparent typing error in “lwhich.” These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a more precise set of transport-related phrases and check spelling and word forms; for example, describe rail as “reducing journey times” and public transport as “lower-emission travel.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “For example” and a clause introduced by “which.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For instance, “I party agree” has an incorrect adverb form, while “by making new railway lines … improve the networks” lacks a clear grammatical subject. In “helps tourist for travelling,” the noun form and sentence pattern are not controlled. The opening also joins several ideas with “but” without a clear structure. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, and check articles, agreement, and punctuation when editing.
