Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear preference for building new fast railways, and you mention reasons for both views: reduced congestion and travel time for new lines, and lower pollution from improving existing transport. However, the discussion is only partial and the supporting ideas are under-developed. The Bangladesh example is difficult to follow and does not clearly explain how the transport project supports your argument; the claim that bullet trains are “the only blessings” is also too absolute. Your conclusion is incomplete, ending with “proper steps to reduce the…”, so it does not fully restate your position. The response also contains 227 words, below the required 250. Develop each view with a clear explanation and a relevant, accurately described example, then complete the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “To begin with,” a contrasting paragraph introduced by “on the other hand,” and a conclusion. These markers help the reader identify the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and several ideas are joined without showing their relationship. For example, the first body paragraph moves from developed countries’ amenities to population density, transport problems, and Bangladesh without clear links. The conclusion is unfinished, which also weakens the overall organisation. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect each explanation to the relevant view, and use referencing and linking phrases accurately rather than relying mainly on a few repeated transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “traffic congestion,” “environment pollution,” “carbon emission,” and “infrastructure,” and these choices show an effort to discuss transport and urban issues. However, the range is limited and frequent spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “prespactive,” “aboundant aminities,” and “bolessings.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “spend huge amount of money to construct new railway” and “re construction of existing transportation.” Choose accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, use “invest heavily in new railway lines” and “upgrade existing public transport.” More precise vocabulary would make your arguments clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “Because” and a contrast introduced by “Whilst.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer sentences often contain errors that make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “it is crucial to spending,” “government successfully mitigate,” and “cities are densely populated so worse transportation system increases the hassles.” These show problems with verb patterns, tense, articles, and sentence boundaries. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, particularly around commas and full stops. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and verb forms before submitting.
