Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response makes a limited attempt to discuss both views, mentioning railway construction and improving public transport, and gives a relevant example of the Orange Line in Lahore. However, the discussion is incomplete: the public-transport view is only briefly called an “accelerate idea,” with no explanation of what improvements would achieve or why people support them. The writer’s own position is also unclear; the opening phrase “According to my opinion” does not establish which investment is preferred, and the response ends before developing its final point. The example could support the argument, but its relevance and benefits need to be explained. The response is 91 words below the required minimum, which further limits the opportunity to address and support all parts of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: it begins with a general statement, then gives an example about the Lahore railway line, and later introduces the alternative view. This provides some recognisable progression. However, the ideas are not developed into clear paragraphs, and the links between them are often difficult to follow. For example, “I want to talk about the most famous people” does not clearly connect to the discussion of railway investment, while “He” has no clear reference. The final sentence is unfinished, so the response has no conclusion or clear overall progression. To improve, use one paragraph for each view, connect each example directly to its point, and finish with a concise statement of your opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response includes some topic-related vocabulary, such as “public transport,” “railway lines,” “construction,” and “government,” and the reference to the Orange Line gives the discussion some specificity. There are also attempts to use less common expressions, including “proficient ideas” and “positive point of view,” but these are not natural or precise in context. Several word choices and forms make the intended meaning difficult to identify, as in “converted the electric moters” and “the some people proficent the transport improvement.” Spelling and word-form errors also occur, including “transportaton” and “goverment.” Build a more accurate set of transport collocations and use familiar words precisely before attempting more elaborate expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some sentence variety, including a time clause in “Some days ago … then I see” and a relative clause beginning “Which is accepted…”. However, many sentences are incomplete or have unclear grammatical relationships, and control of verb forms and sentence boundaries is inconsistent. For example, “Some year ago … the goverment plans” shifts awkwardly between past time and present tense, while “He is started” does not form a correct verb construction. The fragment “Which is accepted the old culture…” is not a complete sentence, and punctuation around sentence openings and clauses is often missing or misplaced. Practise building complete subject–verb sentences, keeping tense consistent when describing past events, and joining clauses with clear punctuation.
