Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think that spending bigger amount of money on constructing new fast trains between divisions and others people believe that money should be spent on improving existing public transport. I agree both of this beacuse these two transportation much needed for every city to travelling or communicate with far people.

Fast train is needed for who can go one place to another place in a short time. It's very suitable for every person of the cities. But this transpotation cost is expensive beacuse it's maintaining cost is too high. For this reason this is not suitable for porr people. However, this train can travel long distance whithin a few minutes. This type of train can save citizen valuable time which they are used for their other works.

On the other hand public transportation is muich need to improve because everyone use this to go one place to another. Also it's cost is cheaper compared to other transportation. For this reason any one can easily traveling by it. poeple who are very poor, they can easily ride with this. And also it is also most demanding transportation beacuse of its cost. Even all the people use this so it should be upgraged.

In conclusion, I think that both of these transportation are useful in their own way. Who has some urgnet work they can easily travel with fast train. And if anyone have money crisis, he/she will travel with public transportation. Both are valuable for different types of people of the city.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both options and give a clear preference for investing in both, with relevant points about speed, cost, and access for people on lower incomes. However, the position is only briefly supported: the claim that fast trains save time and the point that public transport is cheaper are not developed with specific examples or fuller explanation. The response therefore addresses the task only partially, with ideas that remain limited and under-developed. Also, the response is 243 words, below the 250-word minimum; the nine words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Add a concrete example and explain how investment in each option would benefit cities to develop your argument more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive or unclear. For example, the public-transport paragraph repeats that it is affordable and widely used, while “And also it is also” makes the connection awkward. The conclusion restates the main position but does not bring the reasons together. Use clearer topic sentences, group related points, and make each sentence add a distinct step to the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “constructing,” “public transportation,” “valuable time,” and “demanding,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-choice, and collocation errors make the writing less clear or natural: “divisions” for cities, “transpotation,” “poorr,” and “upgraged.” Phrases such as “money crisis” and “fast train” are also imprecise in this context. Build a more accurate set of transport-related expressions and check spelling carefully. More precise choices would help you explain the benefits and drawbacks without relying on repeated basic wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer structures, such as “For this reason this is not suitable for…” and “Who has some urgnet work…,” but most sentences follow simple patterns, and attempts at more complex phrasing are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “both of this … much needed,” “everyone use this,” and “if anyone have money crisis.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic, as in “Fast train is needed for who can go one place to another place.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete relative clauses, then combine ideas using controlled complex sentences.
