Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some poeple personally belive that to repair new railways is better choice, the other think constructed new railways is a good choice, when you repair existing railways it may costeffective, reduce accident risk, when you develop new railways beacause of technological development, new digital electric trains will charge less fair to peoples.

Commencing with first point of view, few people thinks its benifical to improve current railways. Repair present transportation reduce risk of railway crashes that make the lower accidential rate in our country, the another reason is cost effective, least money require to convert present railway systems into new railways. It can also reduce our time.

In second point of view, peoples developing modern technological raliways is more benifical for us, when new railways introduce it make or technological development of our country in the modern era, due to new transportation such as electric train service. The new modern railroads is advantageous for poor poeples because of reduction of fairs, affordability is also the main step new electric railways is reasonable for poor peoples.

From my prespective, developing new railways is better option for us because modernization, technological growth, long term sucess, and its also valueable for poor peoples.

In assence, redevelop old railway system. Establish new railroads is extremely valuable for us. these both views is helpful for public, however to check the public satisfaction is crucial before taking any type of measures, grovernment is also responsible to check which phase is valuable opportunity for all type of poeples.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for developing new railways: “developing new railways is better option for us.” You also give relevant reasons, including safety and cost for upgrading existing lines, and modernization and affordability for new services. However, the discussion remains limited and several claims are unclear or insufficiently explained. For example, the link between new electric trains and lower fares is asserted rather than supported, and the benefits of saving time are not developed. The conclusion introduces public satisfaction and government responsibility without showing how these points follow from the earlier discussion. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason with a specific example and maintain a consistent, fully explained position throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an opening, separate paragraphs for the two views, a statement of your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “Commencing with first point of view” and “In second point of view” helps readers identify the sections. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow, and some links between ideas are unclear. The opening combines both positions in a confusing sentence, while the final paragraph repeats the contrast and adds new points rather than drawing the discussion together. Connect each reason to its explanation more clearly, use pronouns and references precisely, and make the conclusion summarise the arguments supporting your stated preference.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “railway crashes,” “technological development,” “electric train service,” and “affordability.” These choices show an effort to discuss transport and infrastructure rather than relying only on general language. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices sometimes make the meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “fair” for “fare,” “accidential,” “benifical,” and “raliways”; phrases such as “repair new railways” and “least money require” are also unnatural. Build a more accurate set of transport collocations and check spelling carefully. Using precise terms such as “upgrade existing lines” and “high-speed rail network” would make the argument clearer and more appropriate to the topic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “when” and “because,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms occur frequently and can make ideas hard to follow. For instance, “few people thinks” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “Repair present transportation reduce risk” lacks accurate verb forms and articles. The sentence beginning “when new railways introduce” also needs a passive form and clearer clause structure. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are sometimes unreliable, particularly in the opening. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one controlled subordinate clause; check agreement and verb forms in every sentence.
