The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The diagram explain the process of generating electricity through geothermal energy.
Overall, by injecting cold water in to geothermal zone water gets heat up and transfer into steam which is used to rotate turbine and eventually ends up in to electricity.
Cold water pumped to hot rocks by using the injection well, which is 4.5 km deep. Water heats up due to heat of the rocks. Hot water pumped up towards the condenser through the production well. By this process steam get collected in to condenser. This steam is used to rotate turbine blades. Turbine rotate generate which generate electricity. Now this electricity forwarded towards grids.
