IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The given diagram illustrates the process of generating power by the use of earthly thermal energy by using different components.

Overall, the flow chart describes various stages of process and objects using in power plant to make electricity from natural source of energy.

To begin with, there is reservoir of cold water from where water pumped down into the injection well which is nearly 4.5km deep. From there start a bed of hot rocks which is primarily source of geo energy which makes overflowing water hot and transfer into the production well. All these stages happen underground in this method.

Now, the on ground stage begins. Hot water produce steam which condensed with the help of condenser. This steam then help in run the turbine which generates electricity by turning on generator the key and final object of this process. From there, produced electricity is send to electric towers which then make it available to use for the public.
