IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The usage of geothermal energy to produce electricity is depicted in the following diagram .
Initially , the cold water goes down in the ground for about four and half kilometers and then it goes to the injection well. The cold water reaches the geothermal zone where there are hot rocks. The water become hot and then it goes to the next side which is production well.
Meanwhile, the water is in production well the water is pumped up to the outer side of the ground. Now the water goes in the condenser where the hot water is converted into the steam. Moreover, in the last step steam goes in the turbine and the turbine is connected to the generator which generates electricity. And then the electricity flows in the towers to our homes and other places.
Conclusion, the process of making electricity from geothermal energy involves few steps .
