IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The process diagram illustrates the generation of electricity by using the geothermal energy.

Overall, the process includes five stages.Starts with insertion of cold water into ground and ends with production of power.In additon, it involves important stages with difficult stages and advanced machineries.

Initially, the freezed water is pumped into underground about 4.5 kilometers depth from the earth's surface.Then, the injection well is used to push the towards geothermal zone where the hot rocks are present.In this the cold water is converted into hot water through natural process.Later, the production well is acted to draw the boiling water upwards from the geothermal zone.

Next,the hot water is undergoes condensation process in which the steam is blowed with high pressure towards the turbine blade.subsequently, the hot steam rotates the turbine with high speed and produced the power.Finally,the generated power is stored in large generators and supplied to large current stands and stations.
