The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The given diagram below shows that how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.

In overview, Geothermal power plant is used to produce electricity and the different stages are also shown here in the given diagram.

To begin with, the process start from cold water pumping down to 4.5 km and next step is to injection well properly to set the process to geothermal zone and next. step is to the production well and to hot water pump upward and then condenser is converted into steam . So this is the process of producing electricity. So the difference is cold water is pumped downward and the hot water is pumped upward.

Furthermore, the last step is to steam to turbine powered by steam and then to generator powered by turbines and produces electrical signals to supply or produce electricity. So this is the final stage of producing electricity through geothermal power plant.
