IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The given flow chart illustrates the steps to produce electricity by geothermal energy. overall, this process include five steps such as cold water, the injection well , the production well , condenser , and last step turbine .
To commence with , the proccedure starts from first step containing cold water which will be pumped down through pipe of 4.5 km , secondly the water transfer to the injection well will convert into hot water in geothermal zone by hot rocks present there , in third step the hot water will move towards the production well to get pump upwards.
Then the water which move upward from production well will enter in condenser which is the fourth step , helps to convert warm water into steam as steam plays major role in generating the electricity , last but not the least , steam enters with high pressure which in torn rotates the turbine resulting in the production of electricity in the generator. which is then suplied to towers for usage.
