IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given picture illustrates that how underground thermal energy is used to produce electricity.

This diagram shows that how water convert into electrical power with in few steps. At the first, cold water is used for this process and then liquid goes down with help of pump and converted into hot water, this process called Geothermal zone (hot rocks) having two process, the first one is injection well and second production well.

Afterwards, when hot water pumped up into condenser it will converted into steam. This hot air is used to produce Geothermal generated electricity, turbine is moving with help of steam and generator use this power to produce power supply. At the end, the whole electrical energy moving to tower. Overall, the whole graph displays how water is converted into geothermal energy, this is the basic structure of Geothermal power plant that is used almost everywhere that is provide Geothermal generated electricity.
