IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The picture presents the process of the production of electricity by the geothermal energy .
overview, it is clearly seen that , this diagram is completed in totall five steps. Started from putting cold water to ground level and ends with producing the electricity .
First and foremost step of geothermal power plant , is that the cold water is pumped down 4.5 km deep to the geothermal zone . After that , when the cold water goes down with the hot rocks it converted into hot water . Futhermore, that water pumped up to the condenser.
Moreover, it is witnessed that , the hot water in a condenser form steam which is used in turbine to produce the energy . Apart from that , the generator is powered by the turbine and produces electricity which is further transfer to the tower and then supplies to all over the country .
