The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The diagram shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.

Overall, there are lots of materials and compound are used to produce electricity. All the information are provided above the ground and under the ground. The cold and hot water are showed in left and right and material also used under the ground.

Firstly, there are five materials and compounds used in producing electicity. In the beginning, the cold water is pumped 4.5km under the ground, and than the water is injected through it's well. Geothermal zone(hot rocks) through were cold water passes to the production well, and through it the hot water is pumped up to the condenser.

After, transfering the cold water through those process reached to condenser, hot water steam is generated in the condenser, steam is trasmitted to turbine through small valve, and than the steam is powered and the eletricity is produced and by the help of generator eletricity it is trasmitted through the powerfull wire that can handle the power, where the tall pole is used.
