Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In my point of view, both decisions have some sufficient reason . First of all I'll like to discuss first condition. It is true that if parents listen every choices of children, the children can be horrid in the future .Moret, they will try to get everything in any cruel way. In addition, they can be nasty and rude with the low income residents. I have seen my piblings behave nasty with other children if they don't get the best toys or chocolate. Then come to the next point of view. Some significant amount of people also think that allowing children to make their decision in everyday matters is beneficial. Because, in future they have to make their own decisions what affects them. This is also a strong opinion in this term . Because , I've seen many matture people even can't take their own dicitions. They become depended on their parents. So, in this case , I think parents should take a careful decision for their children . Parents should balance both these view . They have manage their children decision. They have allow children to make their own dicision every matters if it's good for them snd if it's a right dicision . Moreover, they both have say "no" to their children wrong decisions. In this way , parents can contribute a massive benefits for their children future. In my opinion, both view is essential for children future to make them kind with others and also make enough confident to make decision for their own matters.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear overall view: parents should balance children’s choices with guidance. The examples about children reacting badly when they do not get toys or chocolate, and adults who depend on their parents, are relevant to the two positions. However, the first view is developed more through claims about selfish or rude behaviour than through an explanation of how everyday choices lead to these outcomes. The benefits of decision-making are also stated rather than explored in detail. To strengthen the response, explain the link between small choices and later independence, and show how parental limits can teach consideration for others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: it introduces the issue, discusses the concern about self-centred children, presents the case for independence, and ends with your balanced opinion. Linking phrases such as “First of all,” “In addition,” and “In my opinion” help signal these stages. However, the ideas are crowded into one paragraph, so the progression between the two views and your conclusion is not clearly marked. Some transitions, including “Then come to the next point of view,” sound mechanical, and repeated use of “Because” does not always connect ideas smoothly. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and make each paragraph develop one central point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “everyday matters,” “beneficial,” “dependent,” and “balance,” and the main message is generally understandable. However, word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “horrid” and “nasty” are imprecise for describing the possible effects of parenting, while “low income residents” does not clearly fit the point about children’s behaviour. There are also misspellings such as “matture,” “dicitions,” and “snd.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “self-centred,” “make independent decisions,” and “set boundaries” would suit this discussion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if parents listen every choices of children” and a reason clause beginning “Because, in future…”. However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries can make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “They have manage their children decision” and “They have allow children” need corrected verb patterns, while “both view is essential” has an agreement error. Some clauses beginning with “Because” are also left as sentence fragments. Practise forming complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
