Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays many people belive that allowing kids to make their own decisions on daily matters regarding food, cloths and entertaintment will result in socity of people who only care about their own whishes, while the other arrgues that it is essensial for children have their own choices regarding matters that affects them. In my opinion children making their own choices have surtain benifits such as decision making, while there are also some drawbacks of that as well.
On the one hand, it is important to make kids have their own choices in thigs that only affect them. It helps building stronger decision making power in young individuals from smaller age, which hepls them getting more confident in their life. That confidance can become a key to their personal and as well as the profesnoal growth in the future, which collectivly creats a creative and more confident socity.
On the other hand the biggest concurn about leaving the decision making into the hands of children is that they do not know the difference between what is wrong for them and what is write, because sometimes the obvious and tempting chocies can give them the momentarily satisfaction, but can have a very bad after affect on their own future as well as the future of people near them. That alone can be a pivatel point in the making of socity of individuals who only think about themselves only.
In conclusion, kids having their own decisions can bring out the confidance and a stron decision making power, but if they are not supervised properly their choices aslo can lead to a shelfish socity which does not care about the feelings of others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear overall position: children’s choices can build confidence and decision-making, but need supervision. The first body paragraph explains the benefits, linking early choices to confidence and later personal and professional growth. The second presents the concern that children may choose immediate satisfaction over their future interests, and connects this to self-centred behaviour. However, the discussion is unevenly developed: the benefits are described in broad terms, while the risks would be clearer with a specific everyday example and an explanation of how it affects other people. Your opinion is present, but could be stated more precisely—for example, by distinguishing age-appropriate choices from decisions requiring adult guidance. This would make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and the ideas generally progress from children’s development to possible social consequences. Some connections are less clear or feel mechanical. For instance, “That alone can be a pivotal point” does not specify exactly what “that” refers to, and the link between a child’s tempting choice and a society of self-centred individuals needs further explanation. The conclusion repeats the main contrast rather than drawing the ideas together. Use more precise referencing and develop the links between claims so the progression feels more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “decision making,” “confident,” “momentarily satisfaction,” and “supervised,” to discuss children’s choices and their consequences. Some attempts at more formal or less common language show ambition, but inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: examples include “socity,” “whishes,” “pivatel,” and “shelfish.” There are also awkward collocations, such as “make kids have their own choices” and “decision making power.” These do not prevent the main ideas from being understood, but they limit precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships; choosing simpler, accurate phrasing is preferable to using an ambitious expression incorrectly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “while” and a longer explanation beginning “because sometimes…”. The main meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “it is essential for children have” needs an infinitive marker (“to have”), and “matters that affects them” has a subject–verb agreement error (“affect”). In “It helps building,” the verb pattern should be “helps build” or “helps to build.” The long sentence about tempting choices also needs clearer control of its clauses and punctuation. Practise verb patterns, agreement, and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb. This will make your varied structures more accurate and easier to follow.
