Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people consider that allowing children to make their own choices on daily matters. Other individuals think that it is assential for children to make decisions about matters that effect them. I will discuss about this in the following paragraphs.

On the one hand, children choice is also important because every kids have their own choices. Some times kids not like the food which his mother made for his,he likes another food like fast food, pizza, zinger burgur, pratha roll, shawarma, and others things like Biryani, so childrens choice is also important in all the cases. Kids choices is also crucial in clothes, what they like what they not like, for example some childrens not like the pent shirt, on the other some kids like the paint shirt, so yes childrens choice is also vital in the society. Entertainment like they go to the park for his enjoyment or ther other they go to the big bulidings for the entertainment.

On the other hand, It is also important for children to make decisions about important matters that effect their lives. I agree with this opinion becuase children should feel that their own decions is significant. For example, parents ask the children about their school choices, hobbies and future goals.

This can help children fell respected and responsible.

In conclusion, children should be allowed to make their own choices and take part in important decisions. However, parents should always support and guide them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify both views and give a clear opinion that children should make choices while receiving parental guidance. The examples about food, clothing, entertainment, and school choices are relevant, but the first view is mostly illustrated through lists rather than explained in relation to the concern that children may become self-centred. The second view is brief, with school choices, hobbies, and goals named but not developed with reasons or examples. The response therefore addresses the task only partially, with limited support for its ideas. It also contains 225 words, which is 25 words below the 250-word minimum; 17 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both sides more fully and explain how guidance can balance independence with consideration for others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the two viewpoints easy to identify. However, progression within the first body paragraph is weak: the discussion moves from food to clothes to entertainment through repeated statements that children’s choices are important, without clearly connecting these examples to the central debate. The second body paragraph and conclusion are much shorter, so the discussion feels uneven. Some linking and reference are also awkward, such as “on the other” and “for his enjoyment.” To improve, organise each paragraph around one main reason, explain it, and use clearer links between the example and the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “choices,” “important matters,” “school choices,” “hobbies,” and “future goals.” The repeated use of “important,” “choice,” and “kids” makes the range limited, however, and several word forms or spellings reduce clarity, including “assential,” “burgur,” and “decions.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “big bulidings for the entertainment” and “children choice.” Aim for more precise terms and natural collocations, for example, “make independent decisions,” “personal preferences,” and “develop a sense of responsibility.” Varying the vocabulary would help distinguish the examples from the reasons and make the discussion clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “every kids have their own choices” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “children should feel that their own decions is significant” has an unclear noun phrase and incorrect agreement. The opening fragment, “Some people consider that allowing children to make their own choices on daily matters,” is not completed with a main clause. Commas and spacing are also inconsistent, especially in the long food example. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation when joining ideas.
