Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people believe that in every day routine children have there own choices in food clothes and entertainment as a result every individuals thought about there own choice in society. Other thought those children who make their own decisions affect them in my opinion i totally disgree with this statement.

According to given statement i disgree because to give to much liberty to there children make them alot of affect in every matter of life not only food and clothes every walk of life. They lose worth of money. For example they never value the things in life they only eat what they like which is not healthy for their body and brought clothes which are too much cost and watch movies and enjoy in their lesiure time they didnot now how time is important for them. It is responsibiliy of parents that all decisons are only on there hands. It have a negative impact on other society individual.

On the other hand, if parents teach importance of things to there chidren many people things children give freedom in this case parents are confident on them and children also fullfill other requirements like they are good in study obedient and they know what is good and what is bad for them .

For Instance, parents taught earlier in there development that the poor people needs every kind of food and clothes but they have enough so you should also respect that things which you have.

Hence i totally disgree beacuse todays children are very fast and they feel proud they can do every thing and society also destroys with them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear opinion against allowing children too much freedom, and you offer relevant examples about food, clothing, entertainment, and learning to value what they have. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the opposing view is only briefly introduced: the point that children should decide about matters affecting them is not explained in enough detail. Your argument also shifts between children making everyday choices and parents controlling “all decisions,” without clarifying where a reasonable balance might lie. Develop each side with a specific reason and example, then explain why your position is more convincing. This would make the response address the full task more completely and make its ideas less limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and phrases such as “On the other hand” and “For Instance” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the first body paragraph moves from freedom to money, health, clothing costs, and leisure time without clearly connecting these points. The second paragraph’s opening sentence is especially unclear, so it is hard to identify the view being discussed. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically, and references such as “them” and “that things” are not always clear. Organise each paragraph around one main idea, explain it in a logical sequence, and use linking words only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “liberty,” “responsibility,” “obedient,” and “development,” which helps communicate your general concerns about parenting. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning difficult to follow, such as “make them alot of affect,” “other society individual,” and “society also destroys with them.” Spelling errors, including “disgree,” “lesiure,” and “responsibiliy,” are also noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural phrases rather than more complicated wording: for example, say that excessive freedom “may affect children’s behaviour” or that society “may become more self-centred.” Proofreading spelling and checking common word combinations would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure beginning “if parents teach importance of things.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to understand. For example, “It have a negative impact” has an agreement error, while “parents taught earlier in there development” does not clearly express the intended tense or relationship between ideas. Several sentences also run together without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, and check subject–verb agreement, past and present tense, and sentence boundaries before submitting.
