Student answer (Band 6.0)

Views of society regarding ways of children ubbringing is divided. Some argue, that letting children to make their choices at an early age, will lead to a society of individuals who will only consider their own wishes while others believe that, they should be free in their choices regarding things that influence them because it will boost their self-confidence, and self-esteem.

Some people think that children choices should be restricted because it will create a society of selfish individuals in future. These young folks when grow they will only consider their own needs. If they are raise in this way, they will do every possible efforts for personal gains. For instance, in developing countries this difference can be clearly seen between upper class and lower class young individuals who has upper hand in every sector. These rich children are allowed to choose everything before middle and lower class deserving citizens.

On the contrary, others, myself included, has the opinion of letting these children to explore their choices so that thay have strong personalities in future. Indeed, it will boost their chances of success because these individuals have potential of making their own choices and learning from their mistakes. For instance these children are often high performers in many different fields.

To sum up, although some think that giving freedom to younger masses to explore their choices at an earlier age have a few setbacks like chances of future selfish adults but I believe that at a large picture it will generates citizens that will have strong wellpower and decision making capacity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and make your own position clear: you acknowledge concerns about selfishness, then state that you support children exploring choices because this can build confidence and decision-making ability. These points are relevant, but the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that children who are allowed to choose will pursue “every possible efforts for personal gains” needs clearer explanation, and the comparison between wealthy and less wealthy young people does not directly show that everyday choices cause selfishness. Your supporting example for the opposing view—that such children are “often high performers”—is also asserted rather than illustrated. Develop each side with a more direct explanation or a specific example, and clarify how much freedom children should have.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction presents the two positions, separate body paragraphs discuss each view, and the conclusion restates your opinion. Transitions such as “On the contrary” and “To sum up” help readers follow this progression. This coherent structure meets the core expectations, and the main ideas are generally easy to locate. To make the progression more consistently smooth, connect examples explicitly to the claims they are meant to support; the discussion of class differences, for instance, arrives without a clear link to children’s everyday choices. Some linking is also formulaic, and references such as “these individuals” could be made more precise so the reader can immediately identify who you mean.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “self-confidence,” “self-esteem,” “personal gains,” and “decision making capacity,” and the meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “choices,” “children,” and “individuals,” while several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate. Examples include “children ubbringing,” “upper hand in every sector,” and “strong wellpower”; these may distract the reader or make the intended meaning less precise. Aim for natural, task-specific phrasing and check spelling and word forms. For example, you could describe children as having “greater autonomy” and explain that this may foster “independence” or “consideration for others,” rather than relying on broad claims about strong personalities.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast between the two views and conditional phrasing such as “If they are raise in this way.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response and sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “when grow” needs a subject and an appropriate verb form, “who has upper hand” has an agreement problem, and “it will generates” uses an incorrect verb form. Commas also interrupt clauses in places, as in “Some argue, that.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms during revision. Greater control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
