Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits the development of ideas. While you identify both sides of the argument and state a position, the discussion is underdeveloped and the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence. To reach a higher band, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure the essay is complete. The current length prevents a full exploration of the topic, resulting in a score that reflects the lack of sufficient content.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'While other believe' and 'Another reason', but they are sometimes used inaccurately or in a repetitive manner. The lack of a concluding paragraph and the abrupt ending make the overall structure feel fragmented. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure each paragraph has a clear, fully developed topic sentence followed by supporting details.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple phrasing like 'take their own decisions' and 'make small choices'. There are instances of word-choice errors, such as 'society of individuals' (which is vague in this context) and 'think in broad term'. The range is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terminology would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('People who thinks', 'other believe that make') and missing articles or prepositions. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and the attempt at complex sentences often results in errors that can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
