Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to address the prompt provided. The essay discusses the popularity of crime films and television dramas, whereas the task instructions specifically ask for a discussion on whether children should be allowed to make their own choices regarding everyday matters like food, clothes, and entertainment. Because the content is entirely off-topic, the task achievement is severely compromised. Furthermore, the response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which prevents the development of any relevant arguments. To improve, you must carefully read the prompt and ensure your response directly answers the specific question asked.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is incomplete and ends abruptly mid-sentence. While there is an attempt to use paragraphing and some cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'Furthermore', the logical progression is hindered by the fact that the ideas do not relate to the task prompt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of a conclusion or a fully developed argument makes the overall structure weak. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main position and that you complete your thoughts before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'relateId', 'opporuinities', and 'theses days'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. While some basic words are used correctly, there is a lack of precision and variety. To improve, focus on learning collocations and practicing the correct spelling of common academic words. Expanding your vocabulary through reading high-quality articles will help you use more sophisticated language in your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people are more intend to', 'this trend make people') and awkward sentence structures. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of verb tenses, before attempting more complex structures.
