Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the conclusion is incomplete, which impacts the overall development. The ideas regarding self-confidence and critical thinking are relevant, but the explanation of the opposing view is somewhat underdeveloped and lacks clarity. The argument that children might insist on unnecessary things is a good point, but it is not fully connected to the broader societal implications mentioned in the prompt. To improve, ensure that each paragraph fully explores the implications of the arguments and provide a complete, well-reasoned conclusion that synthesizes your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used to signal transitions. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by grammatical errors or awkward phrasing, such as 'Beside that, It will make easier'. Referencing is generally clear, but the lack of a finished concluding paragraph makes the overall structure feel incomplete, which prevents a higher score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there is a lack of precision and some noticeable errors. Phrases like 'live through their way' and 'add on burden' are non-standard. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'selt-esteem', 'relly', 'independance', 'consulation', 'sophisicated', and 'neseccary'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary, the frequency of errors and the reliance on basic phrasing limit the range. To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and using more precise collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'It is believe by some', 'children who takes their own decisions', and 'they mighy insist for thing'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the high density of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and verb forms would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
