Student answer (Band 6.5)
Few people think condem that allowing children to make decision on daily problem such as foods, clothes and entertainment leads to society of those people who thinks only about themselves. On other hand some blieves that it is benefical for children to take decision about matters that affect them. From my perspective, childrent should take decision on their own matters.
In my opinion, childeren should be allowed to make decision about matters that affect them.Because, when a child make a decision may be it is wrong or right he just took a decision ,this will increase his self confidence furthermore, his ability to take decision will also increase.Children will face all the challenges in his life. When the children learn to make decision in their childhood then, they will be able to take decision in future whenever he face problem. For example, in these days children's are confuse in deciding what to wear and for selecting food for themselves, when they learned how to take a quick decision in their childhood then they will also take decision in the problem like these.
On the other side some people blieve that when children are allowed to make choices in daily matters such as, food, cloths and entertainment this conclude that the chidren leads to the society that only thinks about themselves .They do not care what society says. These children are responsible of their own doings. They just complete their own wishes that are benefical for them.Such people are so selfish and arrogant .This will make a bad impact of them in their society in future.
To sum up, i blieve that making decision by children when they are in their childhood is benefical for them to increase their confidence and in future they will be a good decision makers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding children becoming 'selfish' is mentioned but not fully explored or supported with nuanced reasoning. The introduction is slightly confusing due to phrasing errors, such as 'Few people think condem', which obscures the initial presentation of the views. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the supporting arguments remain at a surface level, preventing the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on expanding the 'why' behind your arguments with more specific examples or logical consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, the transition 'On other hand' is missing an article, and the link between sentences within paragraphs is often abrupt. There is a reliance on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'because' to connect ideas, rather than a more sophisticated range of linking words. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'these' without a strong preceding anchor. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would significantly enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'condem', 'blieves', 'benefical', 'childrent', 'cloths') and some awkward collocations, such as 'take decision' instead of 'make decisions'. The range of vocabulary is limited to basic terms, and there is little attempt to use less common or academic lexical items. While the meaning is generally clear, the repetitive nature of the word choices and the consistent spelling mistakes limit the score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic synonyms and focusing on correct word forms will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('child make a decision', 'children's are confuse') and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several instances of missing spaces after commas or periods. The frequent errors in basic grammar, such as tense usage and pluralisation, occasionally impede the reader's flow. To reach a higher band, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement, while also attempting to incorporate a wider variety of complex grammatical structures with greater accuracy.
