Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, the question of whether parents allow children to make their choice on their desire closet, food and enjoyment in order to make their own decisions or pupils have permission for those decisions which affect them sparks widespread debate. While valid arguments exist on both sides, this essay will discuss each perception before arguing that youths should be allowed to make their own decisions on everyday matters, which will help them to become independence in the future.

According to first group of people, kids should learn what they are interested in by trying ordinary matters, which will allow students to experience new things in their lives. And for that if children need permission will make them quite frustrating. Therefore, it can be possible that pupils loose their interest in daily routines. On the other hand, if youngsters are allowed to experience new things without permission will make them aware of what suits them according to their interest. As a result, children will have understanding making proper decision in the future.

As per second view, youths are growing tenders, they should have permission on what will help them in their growth for the future. To explain, children are inexperienced for a lot of decisions such as how much they should spend time on screen or type of cloths they wear. Therefore, it is good to supervise children on critical decisions. However, trying things which will improve their perception and they can learn from thing such as learning new technologies, spending time with books do not permission. Therefore, those things which help children improvise themselves do not need permission.

In my opinion, children should have freewheel to make their own decision whatever they want to do, because eventually it will teach them what is

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The arguments regarding 'permission' and 'frustration' are not fully explored or supported with concrete examples. The conclusion is incomplete, which prevents a full development of the position. While the task is addressed, the lack of depth and the unfinished nature of the final paragraph mean the response does not fully meet the requirements for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often hindered by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'On the other hand', 'Therefore'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a repetitive manner. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is cut off, which disrupts the overall structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'desire closet' instead of 'clothing choices' and 'growing tenders' instead of 'growing children'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a reliance on basic terms. Some errors in word formation and collocation occur, though they do not completely impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'pupils loose their interest'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'do not permission'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar structures is noticeable and occasionally makes the text difficult to read.
