Student answer (Band 5.5)
Every person has right to choose their choice at certain age but allowing children to make their own choices on food, clothes and entertainment can spoil them and they think about only themselves and own wise, however other people say it is important for children to get experience, critical thinking, motivating and having benevolent feeling that affect them is good ways.
On the one hand, people think that children should make independent decisions on everyday matter can create problem for society. In this time parent do pay enough attention on children and they just give them money that can spoil their behaviour. Making children to choice often led to bad decision they they end up getting regret. They also forget the value of money and things and can led to wasting it. They should knowledge of value because the poor people who can not even afford one things.
On the other hand, rather than completing there all demands parents whole encourage them into trying complex and problem solving tasks. Firstly, children should only give only give things which they are need of so they learn balancing. Secondly, they should learn solving critical thinking that led to experience in there life. For example, a prominent cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi at such young age he is making tough decision and achieving at top notch. Lastly, children should have kind heart and respective behaviour that can led them in motivating into helping others.
In conclusion, instead of puting whole allowance on all choice they should choose little things and learn about helping others. And I believe parents should motivate them in study and value of money so they get affected by situations and get to learn.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the first body paragraph touches on the negative impact of autonomy, the second body paragraph is somewhat disjointed, particularly the example of the cricketer, which does not clearly illustrate how children should make decisions about everyday matters. The position is generally clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and clarity, often relying on vague assertions rather than well-reasoned points. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea that directly relates to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of clear logical links between sentences. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'On the one hand', 'Firstly', 'In conclusion'), they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'own wise' (likely meant 'own wishes'), 'benevolent feeling', and 'puting whole allowance'. While the meaning is usually conveyed, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate flexibility or precision. To improve, you should work on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on basic, sometimes misused, terms. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help you avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'children should only give only give things'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'respective' instead of 'respectful'), and missing articles or prepositions. These errors are noticeable and occasionally cause the reader to pause, although they do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles. Proofreading for common errors like 'there' versus 'their' would also be beneficial.
