Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals think that children are independent to take decision for their life and by their own interest while other said that they should take decision only on the matters which affect their life. In my opinion , I firmly agree with the former notion whereas the other view points are also discussed in further upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand , there are clear arguments why children should take verdicts of their own interests , The predominent one is with this decision making they become independent. For example famous cricketer like sachin tendulkar hears the voice of his inner heart and now he is greatest among all the players. The tertiary reason is that they become mature in early age . To substantiate it children take responsibilty of their life as a result they are like the sailor of the boat which know how to tackle harsh ocean.
In contrast, there are some point point which supports that children should take decision only on those matters which affect them. The primary reason is that they become like free bull who do not have any trainer . For example they do not have teacher who teach them how to survive in this world as a result they are misused by bad elemts of the society.
In conclusion, there are valid arguments on both sides but i belive that, children should be given freedom to take charge of their life so that no regret take place in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The example of Sachin Tendulkar is somewhat tangential and not fully explained in the context of everyday choices like food or clothes. Furthermore, the essay falls just short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the depth of the discussion. While the main points are relevant, they are under-developed, and the conclusion is quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure that your arguments are more directly linked to the specific everyday matters mentioned in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'The tertiary reason is that' or 'In contrast, there are some point point which supports'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'take decision for their life' instead of 'make decisions about their lives' and 'bad elemts of the society'. The repetition of 'take decision' also limits the lexical variety. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'predodement', 'elemts') indicate a need for a more varied and accurate range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other said', 'children take responsibilty... which know'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'they are like the sailor of the boat which know how to tackle harsh ocean'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader. You should focus on mastering basic sentence structure and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
