Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some residents had a mindset that by granting permission to children to make their self-choices on social matter is preferable to results in a society of individual where they only believe about their own wishes while opponents expect that it is essential for children to make decisions in relation to matters. In this essay, I will discuss on both perspective of citizens and give my opinion.

It is necessary to give permission to children to make their own choices, it generally develops a quality of self-dependence in children's. It also generates confidence into children allowing them to do whatever they will. For instance, my little brother whose name is Haider, I encourage him to have his own decision like I allow him to have his schedule for studies or any activity. Also, whenever I went to market with him for shopping firstly, I take opinion of him to buy particular type of clothes for him.

On the other hand, it is very significant for little ones to look out on those matter that impact them. It would made quality of self-believe and self-personality. Such as, if there is a skinny student in a school. He should be look at his body condition, if he don't take enough meal he could then would not be able give attention on his studies.

If I look at both views of peoples, both are essential but, in my opinion, I generally prefer for adolescents to look after the matters that affects them. They should keep an eye onto the things or habits that kills them internally. They also have a right to make self-choices but also, they have to prevent themselves from bad habits or bad company.

I conclude that people should keep an eye onto their children to save them from bad habits like smoking or other several bad kinds of things. We can't let our children to do anything they willing to do.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding the 'skinny student' is unclear and does not effectively support the point about children making decisions. The position is present but could be more clearly articulated throughout the essay. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that directly relates to the prompt's core question about the balance between autonomy and guidance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is often weak. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently mechanical or misused, such as 'In this essay, I will discuss on both perspective'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more cohesive narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'self-choices', 'self-believe', and 'self-personality'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of the message. The range of vocabulary is sufficient for basic communication but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. To improve, work on learning collocations and more sophisticated synonyms for common words, and ensure that you are using words in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people believe... is likely'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'It would made'), and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'He should be look at his body condition'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these errors are frequent and distract from the quality of the writing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
