Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, some individuals think that parents who allow their children to take decisions on their day to day activities whether it is related to their clothing, food or anything else can create a negative impact on them and make them selfish whereas, on the other hand, others think that it only makes children more independent which will help them in future.
To begin with, it is important that the children should get opportunity in order to make decisions on there own which will results either making mistake or learning from that. In todays time the treatment from the parents is very different. Some parents are very strict to their choice where they only allow the children to make choices which fits to there mindset, which creates a tendency to the children that they are now only depended on the parents choices and this creates confusion as well as low in confidence among the mindset of a person.
On the other hands, some parents are very friendly that creates a environment for children to take there choices on their own, that creates the feeling of confidence and independent. But, it has a drawback where it is seen that later on the children gets selfish and have no knowledge or sympathy towards others.
In conclusion, the two different situation is very tricky for the future of children, where it is parents responsibility to guide their children accordingly that it should create a balance, where awareness helps parents when to allow children to make their own decision and where to stop.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that allowing children to make choices can lead to selfishness or independence, these points are not fully extended with concrete examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion attempts to offer a balanced view, but it lacks a clear, decisive stance on which approach is superior. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a specific example or a more detailed explanation of the consequences mentioned, rather than just stating them briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hands', and 'In conclusion'. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or awkward, such as the transition between the benefits of independence and the drawback of selfishness. Additionally, there are some errors in referencing and pronoun usage, such as 'there own' instead of 'their own' and 'there choices' instead of 'their choices', which occasionally disrupts the smooth reading of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some relevant topic-related terms like 'independent', 'sympathy', and 'responsibility'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'depended' instead of 'dependent' and 'there' instead of 'their'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that you are using the correct word forms (e.g., nouns vs. adjectives) to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the two different situation is'), incorrect preposition usage, and persistent confusion between 'there', 'their', and 'they are'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the overall accuracy score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical slips and practice using more complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, with greater precision.
