Some people believe that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters (such as food, clothes and entertainment) is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes. Other people believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them.

Student answer (Band 5.0)
in this essay their are two types of people who think different about childrens some of them believe that we allow our childrens to make decision for every etertainment and in this way, they full their wishes . on the other hand , some indviduals think that we just allow our children to make the only decision if this decision have good for our children we dicuss both point of views why people think like that and i also give my opinion about this statement . initially the people who think we give all the authorities to make their own decision for everything no matter what type of choice is it. there are lots of reason why people think like that first they think if we argue with bou childerns we put our choices on them so in the future they never make good decisions for their own selfs and also they believe that in this way children learn how to communicate with other people and how they convert their thoughts to agree with their decision because sometime children dicuss with other people after that they make everyone to their own thoughts. futhermore, they also believe in way children also gain their knowledge about different type of things . in this way , they also helps other if they do not about the thing . accept that, we also talk about the people who think that we do not allow our childrens to make decision for everything they believe that first , the childrens make decision with their parnets are with elders . their are lots oif reason why they think like that because thgey if they allow their to make any type of decisions in life for theirself so may be in future our childrens do not listen anyone and just put their decision on the other peoples. they also their love childrens so they just treat their childrens like a baby and always pamperd them so they think if they make decision for their own hope so the decision is not good for them so in this way, they feel stress. they think childrens just make the only decision if they now this is great desicion for ourselfs like student make decision for their studies because they known that what is good for us and what subject we interest alot and we got good marks in exam and also the decision good impact on the chiuldrens . now i give my own opinion about the whole dicussion to be honest from my prespective both type of people think good in their own way the result is clear somtime we allow our childrens to make decision for theirselves and somtime we make sure that our childrens do not make any bad decision for theirselves because sometime we make a decision but we feel regret after that so we also dicuss with our parents to make more good decision for ourlife and oue decision also help in future whenever we think about the decision we feel proud ourselves at the moment .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, fulfilling the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is often repetitive and lacks clarity. For instance, the explanation of why some people believe children should make their own decisions is somewhat circular, focusing on 'communication' without clearly linking it to the potential for self-centeredness mentioned in the prompt. The opinion provided in the conclusion is a bit vague, suggesting a middle ground without fully explaining how this balances the two opposing views. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear, distinct topic sentence and more specific, logical supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of effective cohesive devices. Transitions such as 'initially' and 'accept that' are used incorrectly or in a way that does not naturally connect the ideas. The referencing is often unclear, with pronouns like 'they' and 'their' frequently lacking a clear antecedent, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. While there is an attempt to use paragraphing, the internal structure of the paragraphs is disjointed, which hinders the overall progression of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic words like 'decision', 'people', and 'children'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'full their wishes' (fulfill their wishes) and 'put our choices on them' (impose our choices). The student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, but these attempts often result in unnatural phrasing. To reach a higher band, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary and focus on using words in their correct context, rather than relying on simple, repetitive structures.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'their are two types'), pluralization (e.g., 'childrens'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, and punctuation is used inconsistently, particularly with commas and spacing. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often grammatically incorrect, which obscures the intended meaning. A significant focus on basic sentence construction, correct verb forms, and proper punctuation is necessary to improve the clarity and accuracy of the writing.
