Student answer (Band 5.5)
In others opinions giving teenager prefernce to make purchase or take any thing which they want, like junk food, clothing and sporting material makes them selfish. In contrast other individuals think that making decision are good for their growth. In my view letting choose help them become independent and responsible.
On the first hand, giving children too much freedom can make them self centered. Teenagers don't have much mind or maturity to make thier own decision or even they doesnot know about thier good or bad. For instance my nephew always choose own food like pizza, burger and always plays video games therefore he consitantly eat junk food and start entertaiment all day can make him selfish, although he will only care of his wishes.
On the second hand, making decision by children it self helps them to learn important life skills, furthermore when small teenager pick their own clothes or hobbies they will learn how to think for themselves. For example by making own decision can make self confidence, furthermore if you make a bad choice you will able to learn from that mistakes and you will also be prepare for challenges of future.
In conclusion, while to much freedom make child a bit spoiled. I believe that letting children to make every day choice should enchace thier behaviour pattern and its useful in life, although it teach them how to live independly and it should be crucial to thier future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the main points are relevant, the supporting examples, such as the nephew's habits, are somewhat simplistic and lack the depth required for a higher band. The position is consistent, but the arguments could be more thoroughly extended to fully satisfy the task requirements. Because the word count is below the minimum, the development of ideas is restricted, leading to a lower score in this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In contrast', 'On the first hand', and 'In conclusion', though some are used incorrectly or mechanically (e.g., 'On the first hand' should be 'On the one hand'). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between ideas could be smoother to improve the overall readability and logical flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. There are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'take any thing' instead of 'make choices' and 'start entertaiment' which is unclear. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'independent' and 'responsible', but the range is limited. Spelling errors, such as 'prefernce', 'thier', 'consitantly', and 'enchace', occur frequently enough to be noticeable. To improve, the student needs to expand their range of collocations and focus on more precise academic terminology rather than relying on simple, everyday language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('he consitantly eat', 'he doesnot know'), incorrect verb forms ('letting choose help', 'making decision by children it self'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction impede the flow of the text. The student should focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions to improve accuracy and demonstrate better control over complex structures.
