Student answer (Band 6.0)
No one can deny that some believe that allow children to make their own choices in everyday matters, while other to think that parents should make these decisions. This essay will discuss both views before my own opinion.
On the one hand, allowing children to make their own choices can help them become independent and responsible individual. When children decide what clothes to wear, what food to eat or how to spend their free time, they learn to understand the consequences of their decisions. However, child is eat to fast food and heaalthy food parents can explain advantages and disadvantages of each option. In this way, children can gradually develop decision making skills and become more confident.
On the other hand, some people believe argue that children are not mature enough to make every decision by themselves. They may choose things that are enjoyable but harmful in the long run. For instanc, a child may prefer eating fast food every day or spending several hours playing video games instead of studying. Therefore, parents need to set reasonable boundaries and guide their children towards better choices. In my opinion, children should be given some freedom to make decision but parents should provide proper guidance. The best approach is to give children choices that are suitable for their age.
In conclusion, giving children freedom can make them more confident and independent, whereas parental guidance can protect them from poor decision. I believe that b balanced approach, combining freedom with appropriate parental control, is the most beneficial way to raise responsible individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, particularly the argument regarding the balance between autonomy and parental guidance. However, the development is slightly uneven; for instance, the sentence 'However, child is eat to fast food and heaalthy food parents can explain advantages and disadvantages of each option' is confusing and lacks clarity, which hinders the full development of that specific point. Overall, the position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'For instance', and 'Therefore' are used effectively to guide the reader through the arguments. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two opposing views. While the flow is generally smooth, some minor issues with sentence-level cohesion exist, such as the awkward phrasing in the second paragraph, which slightly disrupts the logical progression of the argument. Overall, the structure is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'consequences', 'mature', 'boundaries', and 'balanced approach'. However, there are several spelling errors ('heaalthy', 'instanc') and some awkward word choices or grammatical slips, such as 'child is eat to fast food'. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. More sophisticated collocations would enhance the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and word order (e.g., 'some believe that allow children', 'other to think', 'child is eat to fast food'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the reader's understanding, although the overall meaning remains clear. Punctuation is generally accurate, but the frequency of grammatical slips prevents the response from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic sentence construction and verb forms is needed.
