Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued that enabling children to make their decision on everyday matters promote Individuality in a society who just think about theirself rather than be a part of whole society. On the otherhand, some believes it's necessary to make decision on their own for their personal growth. I believe in some matters it should be necessary for them to make decision but not allow fully freedom as they will cross the limits.
Firstly, allowing children to make their dailylife decision is important as it will groom their personality. Because society is upgrading itself and everybody want to stay updated and keep himself at distinguished place. Either it's in term of food, clothes and entertainment everyone has fully right to utilized this thing. For example if we keep them restricted in this phase it will ultimately result in lose their confidence and kept them beside in society. Each person needs to express his lifestyle according to his taste but it didn't mean it will led to a individuality in society.
Furthermore, It's really important point that children also need to take care of others dignity. They always need to take care what action they are doing will not affect the society and make any negative impressions on someone's life. If they are staying in limits and enjoy their lives accordingly it could be beneficial for them and society as well.
At the end, I just want to conclude it's very important for children to make decision in their dailylife to excel but at the sametime need to take care that by their action no one will affect. Because life of single person matters and ultimately this kind of actions lead to disturbance in society rather than a peaceful envoirnment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that choices lead to selfish individuals versus the necessity of decision-making for personal growth—and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding personality grooming is introduced in the second paragraph with phrases like "groom their personality" and "result in lose their confidence," but it lacks concrete examples or deeper elaboration. The writer tends to over-generalise about societal pressures without fully unpacking how everyday choices specifically tie into selfishness. Although the position is maintained throughout, the ideas remain at a fairly basic level of elaboration, placing this response firmly in Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at a four-paragraph structure comprising an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is often faulty or mechanical. Transitional markers like "Firstly," "Furthermore," and "At the end" are used, but referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the dangling pronoun reference in sentences like "it didn't mean it will led to a individuality." Paragraphing is utilized adequately, but logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by abrupt shifts in thought and awkward phrasing, such as moving from food and clothes directly to societal restriction without smooth transitions. Therefore, the Coherence and Cohesion aspects align with the Band 6 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their basic arguments about children making choices. There are attempts to use less common items, such as "individuality," "distinguished place," and "envoirnment," but these are often marred by inappropriate word choice or collocational errors (e.g., "their decision on everyday matters promote Individuality in a society who just think about theirself"). Spelling errors are also present, such as "dailylife," "sametime," and "envoirnment." While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, frequent inaccuracies in word formation and spelling restrict the score to Band 5.5, reflecting a mix of adequate and limited lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating subordinate clauses introduced by words like "because," "if," and "that." However, the control over grammar is inconsistent, and frequent errors persist throughout the text. Examples of grammatical inaccuracies include subject-verb agreement issues ("some believes it's necessary"), missing articles ("result in lose their confidence"), and incorrect verb forms ("it will led to a individuality"). These errors occur regularly across the response, although they rarely impede overall communication. Because complex structures are often faulty and simple structures dominate clean execution, the performance corresponds to a Band 5.0.
