Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the current societal landscape, it is often allege that children should allow to make decision on everday matters which is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes. However, others opine that young folks should allow to make decisions regarding matters that affect them. This essay will analyse both approaches and I believe that children should make decision which affect them only.
The major reason to support this statement is that it will help to develop sense of responsibility among children. In other words, this will help to build early maturity in them and this may also help to develop make child sense of just to think about themselves only. For instance, children in USA are allow to make their own decisions and due to which get mature early.
On other hand, children should make decisions about matters that affect their life because at young age they are not mature enough that they can make accurate decisions. Moreover, parents should take care of children regarding their daily choices but parents should recognize that in modern era they should be friendly with child so they can express their views to parents freely. Furthermore, if children are facing problem in studies due to instructors so they should be free to change teachers and choose where they are comfortable.
To sum up, both the views had solid perspectives but advantages of allowing children to make choices which only affect them overweight the merits of other statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on children making everyday choices and whether it creates selfish individuals or fosters responsibility. The writer also provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding responsibility in the second body paragraph is brief and lacks deeper elaboration. Similarly, the third paragraph introduces slightly contradictory or muddled ideas about parents being friendly and changing teachers, which weakens the logical flow of the argument. Overall, the ideas are relevant, but their extension is restricted by vocabulary and grammatical limitations, aligning best with a Band 5.5 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs with a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing some overall organisation. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing sentence relationships. For instance, the transition 'On other hand' introduces the second body paragraph, but the content of this paragraph seems to argue against the student's own stated opinion or mixes up contrasting points rather than maintaining a clear stance. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'due to which get mature early' and 'merits of other statement'. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate, placing this response firmly in the Band 5 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and morphology that occasionally impede the reader. Examples include 'it is often allege' instead of 'alleged', 'everday' instead of 'everyday', 'young folks should allow' instead of 'should be allowed', and 'develop make child sense' which is ungrammatical and confusing. While the writer attempts some topic-related vocabulary like 'societal landscape', 'responsibility', and 'independence', the persistent word-formation and collocation errors restrict the lexical score to Band 5.0, as the limited range and frequent inaccuracies cause difficulty.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay displays a very limited range of structures, with frequent and noticeable grammatical errors throughout the text. There is a persistent failure to use passive voice correctly where required, such as 'children should allow to make decision' instead of 'children should be allowed to make decisions', and 'children in USA are allow' instead of 'are allowed'. Additionally, sentence structures are often ungrammatical or awkwardly constructed, like 'due to which get mature early' and 'both the views had solid perspectives'. Punctuation and tense control are also weak. Because simple sentences contain frequent errors and attempts at complex structures are consistently faulty, the performance matches Band 4.5.
