Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people in our society belives that letting their children to make their own decision by there own in their daily life routine, like food, clothes and the cartoons, can make them selfish because they will think that only they are correct and the other ones are wrong, on the other hand there are people wo let thier children to take decision by thier own to make them self dependent.
Both of these point of view are valid in some aspects, becuase this behvaiour can develop some negative as well as positive effect on the childrens. it is important to have control on children to not make them a selfish person.
First of all, the aspects of making a child selfish,is very strange for the child itself he only cares about himself and only belive in his own thoughts and mentality. for example if a child thinks that he has authority and he can do what ever he wants he, this thinking can develop very negatively in some cases by making him self obessed or even selfish.
on the other hand, the people who belive that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them has both impact on the children the positive impact may include the child becoming independent and even develop a sense of great fashion is just depends on the parents that how good they treat their children. if they love them too much they can be spoiled.
in conclusion, both the aspects have positive and negative impact on children it just depends on the parents, parent should not over love the children for their good and to make them a normal person

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views required by the prompt, discussing the perspective that autonomy fosters selfishness and the counter-view that it encourages independence. A personal stance is established, noting that the outcome depends heavily on parental guidance, as seen in statements like "both of these point of view are valid in some aspects." However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on selfishness is expressed rather vaguely through phrases like "very strange for the child itself he only cares about himself." To reach a higher band, the student needs to extend their arguments with more specific examples and deeper elaboration on why and how children develop these traits. Nonetheless, all parts of the prompt are addressed, supporting a Band 5.5 score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization with recognizable introduction and conclusion paragraphs, as well as transitional markers such as "First of all," "on the other hand," and "in conclusion." However, progression is frequently hindered by run-on sentences and inadequate punctuation. For example, the opening sentence spans several clauses without proper terminal punctuation or logical subordination: "Some people in our society belives that letting their children to make their own decision by there own... on the other hand there are people wo let thier children..." Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and cohesive devices are repetitive or mechanically deployed. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion requires better linking to secure a higher score, justifying a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon everyday matters such as "food, clothes and the cartoons." However, there are frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as "belives" instead of believes, "there own" instead of their own, "wo" instead of who, "thier" instead of their, and "self obessed." Less common lexical items are attempted but often misapplied or misspelled, such as "self dependent" and "over love." While these errors are noticeable and occasionally cause slight hesitation for the reader, communication of the core argument is maintained, which aligns with the descriptors for a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The writing demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on long, convoluted complex sentences that lack proper punctuation and control. Frequent errors are present throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ("parent should not over love") and prepositional errors ("depend on the parents that how good they treat"). Many sentences contain multiple clauses strung together with commas or conjunctions rather than accurate subordination or full stops. These recurring errors can cause difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a higher band, placing it firmly at Band 4.5.
