Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the contemporary era, where youngsters are allowed to make there own choices on what they want to eat, wear or how they want themselves to be entertained. Regarding this, there are some skeptical opinions and some think that this will be a positive development in the society. In my opinion it will have a positive effect on youngsters and on the developing society.
First of all, some people think that the individuals who are given the freewill will only think about their own wishes and the society will fell apart with this kind of thing. They are not correct, like the gen z is a generation who will do whatever they want to do and sometimes they are rude to their elders but theres a catch, most of the gen z and gen alpha think more about the better of the society then the older generations. For instance, if there is any accident on the road, the first one to react positively will be the youngsters. They will call ambulance and firebragade if necessary. Meanwhile, older generation will stand on th side and take photos or shoot videos of the scene. Therefore, we should let them choose what they want to do.
While the other opinion, it is important for the children to make decisions about matters that affect them. It is very important for children to make such decisions because this will help them in developing a sense of good and bad.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student attempts to address both views and provide an opinion, but the response is incomplete due to trailing off at the end ("According to me, youngsters must be given complete authoruty over t"). The introduction mentions both skeptical opinions and positive development views, and a personal stance is stated. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and superficial. For instance, the argument regarding Generation Z and older generations lacks rigorous academic support and relies on generalizations. Furthermore, the abrupt ending severely impacts the overall fulfillment of the task, preventing full development of the final argument. Consequently, the response aligns best with Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response shows some organization with basic paragraphing, attempting to separate the introduction, the first viewpoint, and the second viewpoint. However, the overall progression is disrupted by the incomplete ending. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes used inaccurately or awkwardly, such as "Regarding this, there are some skeptical opinions" and "While the other opinion, it is important for the children..." which lacks a main verb and proper connection. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the mechanical transitions between sentences restrict the flow. Paragraphing is initiated but poorly sustained, particularly with the truncated concluding paragraph. These features reflect the descriptors for Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, but it is limited in range and contains noticeable errors. The student attempts some less common terms like "contemporary era" and "freewill," but also commits frequent word choice and spelling errors, such as "there" instead of "their," "fell apart" instead of "fall apart," "firebragade," and "authoruty." Phrases like "do whatever they want to do" and "better of the society" demonstrate a lack of precision and collocation awareness. While communication is not entirely impeded by these flaws, the repetition and inaccuracies place the lexical performance firmly in the Band 5 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings throughout the text, such as "where youngsters are allowed to make there own choices on what they want to eat, wear or how they want themselves to be entertained," which lacks a main clause structure. Other errors include subject-verb agreement issues and punctuation slips. The truncation at the end ("complete authoruty over t") further demonstrates a lack of grammatical completion. Although some complex structures are attempted, frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader, matching Band 5.
