Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both views outlined in the prompt regarding children making everyday choices and discusses the potential consequences of such autonomy versus parental guidance. A personal position is attempted, though it is somewhat muddled due to language barriers. The writer covers all parts of the task, attempting to present arguments for both sides, such as fostering confidence versus ensuring proper direction in daily matters. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence or clear extension. Phrases such as 'In conclusion, we should not give all the right to take decisions the result will be show in a waiste of money' demonstrate confusion in argument formulation. Consequently, the task response aligns best with Band 5 descriptors, where the task is addressed only partially and ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response is divided into four paragraphs, reflecting an attempt at proper structure for an essay. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions, run-on sentences, and abrupt shifts in focus. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or misused, resulting in mechanical and disjointed links between sentences. For instance, transitional phrases like 'On one hand' and 'On the other hand' are employed, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs suffers from unclear referencing and poor sentence construction, such as 'For instance,my friend Abid whose have all the rights to take their decision of life and being freedom of their choice handeled them in a very easy way'. Paragraphing is visible, but the overall progression lacks clarity. This places the response firmly at Band 5 for coherence and cohesion due to the presence of some organisation without a clear, smooth overall progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very limited and basic, restricting the writer's ability to convey precise meanings. There are frequent word choice and collocation errors throughout the essay, such as 'free of hand', 'daily purposes of life', 'buy cloths', 'sown easily', and 'waiste of money'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'technalogy' and 'hanndle'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary fail due to inaccuracies in form and meaning, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding. Because the lexical range is narrow and noticeable errors cause difficulty for the reader, the writing corresponds directly to Band 5 descriptors for lexical resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but complex sentences are frequently faulty and fraught with basic grammatical errors. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, pronoun usage, prepositions, and verb tenses, as seen in sentences like 'A few section of society reveals that, we should be given to children free of hand' and 'Childs have had a powerful memory'. Punctuation is also poorly handled, with irregular spacing around commas and periods. These frequent errors cause significant difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning of many sentences. Therefore, the grammatical performance fits the Band 4 descriptor profile, characterised by very limited structures and frequent errors that frequently distort meaning.
