Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people beleive that enabling children to make daily life choices such as food clothing or entertainment is going to make them self centered. Others think that it make them insependent individuals in society. Although children tend to become self centered by making independent decision but not allowing them to take decision may have significant impacts on their. I believe that children from a certain age should be given decision making power as it enhances their confidence in later years.
On one hand, Many people argue that allowing childrens to make little decisions tend to make them self consious people, without consideration for others. These children start developing to think that their choices matter most than anyone else. This eventually leads to lack of empathy for others. For instance, such children adopt the habit of dominance from young age and would not show respect the choices of others around them.
On the other hand critics beleive that although children starts to impose their choice in everyday life however, starting decision from a young age make them confident individuals. If children are empowered to make little decision in early life, they would be make harder decison in later life. For instance, In later stages of life, individuals have to make decisions for their careers or any persobal decision such as marriage. In these circumstances, it helps them to make strategic decisions as they had learnt life lessons and know how is it like to make best decision for their growth.
In my opinion, while lack of consideration and self centeredness has been the negative impacts but on the whole, taking important decision in life are above anything else in one personal and professional life.
To sum up, whether decision should bw given in the hands of child or not is widely debated. Although it raises issues such as self-centeredness and mays sometimes lead to lack of empthay for other. However, learning to make decision enables individual to make confident decision in their future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that autonomous children become self-centered versus independent—and clearly states the writer's own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as career decisions and marriage. However, there is a tendency to over-generalize, and some arguments lack deeper elaboration. For instance, the transition from making small choices to developing dominance is stated without robust justification. Nevertheless, the main positions are sufficiently clear and logically maintained throughout the essay, aligning well with the Band 6.5 to Band 7 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a clear overall logical organization and progression. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the two body paragraphs exploring opposing views, the personal opinion, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as "On one hand," "On the other hand," and "To sum up," which guide the reader effectively. However, referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., "that it make them insependent individuals"), and some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive in structure. Overall, the flow of ideas is coherent, satisfying the criteria for a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as "strategic decisions," "self-centeredness," and "empowered." However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including "beleive," "insependent," "consious," "empthay," and "bw." While these errors do not impede communication and the intended meaning is always clear, the persistent inaccuracies prevent the lexical score from reaching a higher band. The vocabulary is minimally sufficient and fit for purpose at a Band 6.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditionals and subordinate clauses such as "If children are empowered to make little decision in early life, they would be make harder decison in later life." However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb forms, modal usage, and article omission (e.g., "makes them," "would be make," "taking important decision"). Punctuation is also occasionally faulty. These errors cause some friction for the reader but do not completely obscure the meaning, placing the performance firmly at a Band 5.5.
