Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the contemporary epoch, children usually live their lives freely without any doubt. On that note , it is said that children are allowed to make their decisions freely without interferance of the parents on the daily basis. On the contrary, some believes that its only children who decide to take decisions on things that affect them. This essay will not only discuss both the views but my perspective will also be presented further.
There are many reasons provided by the people who support the former view. To begin with, when children are allowed to make their own decisions like entertainment, food, education , it may result to devastated results for them. For instance, children may not inherit quality of being extroverted in group of others

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The student has failed to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, stopping abruptly at only 126 words. Consequently, the task is addressed only partially, as the ideas remain severely underdeveloped and incomplete. While the introduction attempts to frame the essay structure and acknowledge both views, the body paragraph breaks off mid-thought without providing a complete discussion or a personal opinion. Due to this under-length penalty and incomplete task fulfilment, the performance falls under Band 4.0 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text demonstrates some basic organisational structure, including an introductory paragraph and the beginning of a body paragraph marked with cohesive devices such as 'To begin with'. However, because the text stops abruptly at 126 words, overall progression and paragraphing are incomplete. Referencing is attempted, but mechanical transitions limit the flow. The student uses basic cohesive phrases, but the lack of a fully developed essay structure prevents higher coherence scoring. This corresponds to Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'contemporary epoch', 'interferance', and 'devastated results', but these show noticeable errors in word choice, spelling ('interferance'), and collocation. The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for expressing basic thoughts, but the lexical inaccuracies occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There is repetition and awkward phrasing, such as 'children may not inherit quality of being extroverted', aligning the vocabulary with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as introductory subordinate clauses and passive constructions ('children are allowed to make their decisions'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'some believes that its only children who decide'). Complex structures are often faulty, and punctuation errors occur. Despite these frequent errors, the meaning is generally decipherable, placing the grammatical performance at Band 5.0.
