Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters such as food, clothes and entertaiment is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes.Other people believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them.
At first,There are those people who believe that allowing children to make their own choices is a bad sign. They think by allowing their kids to chose whatever they want to eat,to wear and to watch anything. These people think that by allowing them they would only think of themselves.Despite the fact, they just want to control their kids. These type of parents would not let their kids to take decisions of their life.Their biggest fear is that children would become rogue they would not listen to them.
Secondly,All parents are not same, some parents try to understand their children these are those parents they think children should make their decisions to experience what they are comfortable or not. These are types of parents which help children to take their decisions to help kids to see how their decisions affect them. The decision making is most important part of children growth and development. Those kids they have this ability are more better leader than normal kids.
In my opinion,Parents should believe in their children and let them take their decisions to see how that mistake affect them. Parents should take important steps for them and instead of doubting trust them. For example, if a certain kid believes that he become greatest footballer but his parents would not believe him then he give up on his dream.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the view that autonomy leads to self-centeredness as well as the view that decision-making is beneficial for children. A personal opinion is also stated. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive, which places the response in Band 5. For instance, the discussion on controlling parents in the first body paragraph wanders slightly from the core prompt into parental control rather than societal consequences. Additionally, the example given at the end about a budding footballer is underdeveloped and lacks sufficient depth to fully support the argument. To improve, ensure that every point directly supports the main prompt and expand your supporting examples with clearer explanations and consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, two body paragraphs, and the conclusion. However, progression is impeded by mechanical and sometimes inaccurate use of cohesive devices, such as starting sentences abruptly with 'At first,' and 'Secondly,All parents...'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and run-on sentences or missing spaces after punctuation marks disrupt the flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion lacks smooth transitions between ideas. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider and more accurate range of linking words, ensuring appropriate spacing after punctuation, and logically connecting sentences within paragraphs to guide the reader effortlessly through your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, fitting Band 5 criteria. Words such as 'things', 'kids', and 'parents' are heavily relied upon throughout the essay. There are also spelling errors ('entertaiment', 'chose' instead of 'choose') and word choice inaccuracies ('These type of parents', 'more better leader'). While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, the lack of flexibility and precision prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, incorporate a broader range of less common lexical items, pay close attention to spelling, and avoid repeating the same basic nouns and verbs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('is most important part'), incorrect verb forms ('he become greatest', 'he give up'), and run-on sentences lacking proper conjunctions or punctuation. For example, writing 'At first,There are those people...' demonstrates poor punctuation and capitalization management. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and keep the grammar score at Band 5. To improve, work on sentence boundary punctuation, ensure subject-verb agreement, and practice forming complex sentences with accurate subordinate clauses.
