Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 4.5)
some people believe that child has their own opinion in daily life.Like he or she would be eating what should be he or she wearing and what should be he or she watching. On the other hand sone people believe that this is not good for children because a child can be never distinguish between good or bad.
Some parents think if we do this our children can be independent in their decisions and they can their own decisions what is best for his or her.
But on the other hand, some parents think opposite they think children are children they never know which decision is best for his or her they never able to to take their own decisions.
In my opinion i think it is good children will be able to take their own decisions. In this way child feel more confident and feel independent in his or her life. Children can also recognize good or bad things. They also will be able yo distinguish between evill or truth .Thet will ne able to move upward in the life. They will face the problems and take their own decisions what will be the solution.
But on other side ,the parents who will not allowed the their children to take their own decisions they will never grow independently they always rely thier parents about decicons. They will never feels confident and independent on their life.
But here the major draw back of this fact dome children take some wrong decisions and destroy their lieves. But one other hand the parents who take the decisions of the children life it would be better because they always do best for their children.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both views required by the prompt—that allowing children to make choices creates self-centered individuals versus the view that decision-making is important for children—and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For instance, the writer repeatedly states that making decisions helps children become confident and independent, such as in the sentences 'In this way child feel more confident and feel independent' and 'They will never feels confident and independent on their life.' Because the arguments lack extension, specific examples, and deeper elaboration, the response aligns best with a Band 5 descriptor where ideas are limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The essay lacks clear paragraphing and basic cohesion. The text is divided into a few block paragraphs with no proper introductory or concluding separation, and multiple single-sentence paragraphs appear (e.g., 'Some parents think if we do this our children can be independent...'). Cohesive devices are minimal, mechanical, or incorrectly applied, such as using 'But on other side' and 'But one other hand' repetitively to contrast ideas. Although there is an attempt to organize the discussion into opposing views and a personal stance, the overall progression is disjointed, and referencing pronouns (such as 'he or she' referring to 'child') is frequently confused, matching the Band 4 descriptor.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently relying on everyday words like 'good', 'bad', 'decision', 'confident', and 'independent'. There are numerous word choice and word formation errors, such as 'distinguish between evill or truth', 'dome children', and 'destroy their lieves'. The writer attempts some less common phrases like 'major draw back', but errors in spelling and collocation are frequent and occasionally cause strain for the reader. This performance reflects a Band 4 level, characterized by basic vocabulary and errors that impede smooth reading.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the essay, with a very limited range of structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures are consistently faulty, as seen in 'Some parents think if we do this our children can be independent in their decisions and they can their own decisions what is best for his or her.' There are pervasive errors in subject-verb agreement ('child feel', 'dome children take'), pronoun case and gender agreement ('his or her'), and missing auxiliary verbs. These frequent errors cause significant difficulty for the reader, placing the response firmly in Band 4.
