Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals believe that allowing children to make their own decisions in daily matters (like food, cloths, entertainment etc) will have impact on society and it will become individuals who only think about themselves. On contrary, Some people think that it is important for children to have knowledge about what is right and what is wrong decisions of thier life.
If we talk about people who think that children will always thinks about their own benefit if we allow them to make decisions, they are not wrong and if we allow them to make their own choices from childhood they will not listen to us and they might feel irritated if someone wants to give them advice because they will always thought that what they are doing is right for them even if it is not. That will also effect them in real life when they had to make decision about work or business they will not think about what others and will make their own decisions.
If we talk about people who are in favour of this statement, even they are not wrong they believe that if we taught decision making to our children from childhood that will give them ability to thrive in difficult situations and it will help them in real world. They thought our children should know about what is wrong and what is right for them and knowing that they should make a decision.
Keeping in view both arguments, I would like to say that it is good to teach children to make decision about matters that affect them but not in all matters, we should also teach them if they are going to make a big decision like getting married, moving abroad or opening a business they should always consult with their parents or someone who has expertise in it and then make a wisely decision.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on child autonomy and providing a personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. For instance, the first body paragraph argues that children will become self-centred and dismissive of advice, yet this point is somewhat repetitive and lacks concrete examples to fully extend the argument. Similarly, the second body paragraph outlines the benefits of decision-making for real-world survival in broad terms without sufficient elaboration. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of discussion remains somewhat limited, which prevents a higher rating.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a distinct concluding opinion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and relies heavily on repetitive transitional phrases such as "If we talk about people who..." and "If we talk about people who are in favour of this statement". Furthermore, referencing is occasionally imprecise, leading to a flow that feels slightly disjointed in places. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the main themes, but the logical progression between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother and more varied.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing a sufficient range to discuss everyday choices and personal development. There are several noticeable spelling errors, such as "cloths" instead of clothes, and "thier" instead of their. Word choice and word formation inaccuracies also appear, such as "effect them" instead of affect them, and "wisely decision" instead of wise decision. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they demonstrate a restricted control over less common lexical items, keeping the score at this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain errors. There are issues with run-on sentences and punctuation, such as joining independent clauses with commas without proper conjunctions, seen in phrases like "they are not wrong and if we allow them...". Additionally, errors occur in verb forms, tenses, and subject-verb agreement, such as "children will always thinks" and "they had to make decision". Although these grammatical errors do not completely obscure the intended meaning, they occur regularly enough to restrict the score to this band.
