Student answer (Band 5.5)

Parenting and upbringing of the childeren is not an easy task, it demands a lot of attention and determination so that child can grew well and make a better induvidual for the society tommorow. Parenting is not just limit to have a check n balance infact it is widely spread to various things that can make the personality of the childerens. however everyone have there own methedologies to engage the childerens.some people believes that allowing children to make there own choices result in a society of induviduals who only think about them while some people believe that it is important to give some liberty to childeren in there everyday matters

i personaly agree with the second opinion because at the end a children is also a human being. they also have emotions so it is bettter to give them some liberty so they can choose there everyday matters by themselves like what they want to eat today and what they want to wear today it will heps them to get confident and allow's them to stand on there decisions rather then just dictating them for example if someone want to wear a blue t-shirt and his mother is arguing with him to wear the yellow shirt then it is not an appropriate behavior because with this unnecessary interference makes them stubborn with the parents.

related to the first worry that allowing them to take there everyday decision can get them selfish i reckon that if the children is sometimes get pampered by his parents does not make him selfish infact it make the better understanding with parents and they will be stronger emotionaly as well as mentaly.

in conclusion i would say everything has it's own pros and cons obviously these both view can have both as well but in my point of view allowing childeren to take there decisions helps a lot in there nourishment and upbringing so parents have to understand there childeren so they don't behave irrational with them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on children making everyday decisions and providing a personal opinion. However, the treatment of the ideas remains limited and under-developed. While the student outlines the perspective that allowing choices might lead to self-centered individuals and counters this with the benefit of building confidence, the arguments lack extension and specific elaboration beyond the immediate example of choosing clothes. The position is stated, but the overall development is restricted, reflecting a partial coverage of the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation evident in the essay, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, yet there is no clear overall progression throughout the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently inadequate or inaccurate. The student relies on basic transitions and run-on sentences without full stops, making the logical flow mechanical and sometimes difficult to follow. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun shifts between singular and plural forms when referring to children and parents.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate to communicate the basic argument. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the response, such as 'childeren', 'induvidual', 'tommorow', 'limit' instead of 'limited', and 'methedologies'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted control over less common lexical items, keeping the vocabulary score constrained.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer employs a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on run-on sentences linked loosely with conjunctions or lacking proper punctuation entirely, as seen in the opening paragraph. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, characterised by frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'everyone have there own' and 'a children is also a human being', alongside incorrect articles and prepositions. These frequent grammatical errors cause considerable difficulty and strain for the reader.
