Student answer (Band 5.0)
In our society, Some people believe that allowing their children to make their own decision in everyday life makes them selfish and a person who only thinks about herself. At the same time, many people also believe that it is important for children to make their decisions related to their life.
People who think that parents who allow their childrens for making decisions related to their everyday matters make them selfish and they think their own wishes. it is true in some cases, some childrens when they start making their own decsisons, they will make hem selfish somehow. For example, when children start making their in childhood they will also doing decsison in future , as we know that children cannot make their big decision better for their future. there is alot of risk in their decision. Parents should take decision for their children.
While some people believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them. Its depend on the parents how they allow them which type of decision they make. Children can make their own choices on everydays matters such food, cloths and entertainment. this will make them more confident about their lifes. as this matter is very small, if children take a wrong choice they will no much affect their lives. For example, if children want to buy a suit for eid and after wearing that suits on eid and its not looking good on him, there is no big problem. atleast this decisions is not making their life miserable.
In my opinion, children must make their own decisions related to everydays matter such as for food, clothes ad entertainment. The decison making ability of children will help in their future for making better decision in important matters of life. this brings confident in children and they feel more excited.
different people have different believes related to decison making allowance to their children but in my opinion, its very good for children mental growth and development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the main parts of the task by discussing both views on children making everyday decisions and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive. For instance, the discussion on how making choices makes children selfish lacks clear extension or robust examples, relying instead on vague assertions like when children start making their own decisions they will make them selfish somehow. The position is stated, but the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth to move higher, as key points such as future decision-making capabilities are mentioned briefly without fully exploring the implications. Note that 25 words copied directly from the prompt were excluded from the official word count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different viewpoints, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical or repetitive manner, such as the repeated use of phrases like for example and while some people believe. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph cohesion suffers due to abrupt shifts in ideas and weak referencing. For example, pronouns like it and they are often ambiguous in context, making the progression of thought difficult to follow smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary related to the topic, such as mental growth and development and decision making ability, but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and form. Examples include childrens instead of children, decsisons instead of decisions, everydays matter instead of everyday matters, and cloths instead of clothes. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of vocabulary that hinders clear communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The writing exhibits a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple clauses and repetitive patterns. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and agreement. Examples of grammatical issues include subject-verb agreement errors such as its depend on the parents, missing articles like on eid and not looking good on him, and run-on or fragmented sentence structures like this will make them more confident about their lifes as this matter is very small. These frequent errors across basic and complex structures cause significant difficulty for the reader.
