Student answer (Band 5.0)

A group of individuals argue that permiting the minors to make their own decisions on their daily life matters could result the general populace who will only be concerned to fulfil their own wishes. Conversely, some people believe that it is vital to make choices about their matters that affect them.

In my opinion, there are some personal matters that should be handled by their elders only. Because giving consent their children to make decision in all the aspects of their life will result in a rude and failed society. These choices can start from allowing them to chose their dresses, food, entertainment and educational matters. Such minors never build the ability to accept others and they become egoistic, arrogant and careless.

Furthermore, they should be given some options related to one choice and let them choose one decision from your shorlisted things. You can gradually start to take their choices. This will boost the confidence in them.

Additionaly, the youngsters of this contemporary society are very aggressive consequentially in my opinion, they should be handled wisely so that their edo does not get hurt.

Parents ought to make it sure that these decisions are not affecting them in negative way. By winning their trust, they will also be able to think about others prosperity as well.

In this modren world, if you want your young youth not be a stubborned society, you can make confidence in your children. Show your trust on them and they will become happest and start thinking about others wishes as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic and give a view: you argue that adults should retain control over some matters while children should be offered choices gradually. However, the discussion of the two views is uneven. The concern that children may become “egoistic, arrogant and careless” is stated, but not explained with a specific example, and the opposing view—that children need decisions about matters affecting them—is only briefly supported by the point about confidence. Your position also shifts between restricting choices and encouraging trust, without clearly defining which decisions children should make. Develop both perspectives with reasons and examples, then state a consistent conclusion about how parents can balance guidance with independence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an identifiable opening and moves through related points, including parental guidance, confidence and trust. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the paragraphs do not clearly separate the two views or build a sustained argument. For example, “Furthermore” introduces a practical suggestion, while “Additionaly” begins another point about aggression, but the relationship between these ideas is not made clear. The final paragraph repeats the recommendation to build confidence rather than drawing together the discussion. Use a clear structure—one paragraph for each view, followed by your position—and make each paragraph develop one central idea. Check that linking expressions accurately show how ideas relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary such as “egoistic,” “arrogant,” “confidence” and “prosperity,” showing some ability to discuss children’s behaviour and development. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts of the argument unclear. Examples include “result the general populace,” “take their choices,” “stubborned society” and “show your trust on them.” Spelling errors such as “permiting,” “shorlisted,” “Additionaly” and “modren” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable set of phrases for discussing parental guidance and independence, and check spelling and natural word combinations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if you want your young youth…” and a reason introduced by “Because.” However, complex constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “allowing them to chose” has an incorrect verb form, “giving consent their children to make decision” lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “Parents ought to make it sure that these decisions are not affecting them” has problems with its construction and tense. Sentence boundaries are also awkward, as in the fragment beginning “Because.” Practise complete, controlled sentences and check verb forms, articles, plurals and clause structure.
