Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them. Other people believe that allowing children to make their own decisions on everyday matters is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes.
people who think that it is important for children to make decisions is because first of all this increase the confidence in children. Such children are more confident and can make good decisions in other matters of life. Secondly, this gives leadership qualities to child. Such children have leadership qualities and can make good decisions in difficult situations. such children can handle hard situation quite easily. They can cope with challenging situations and can ticle them. One of my family friend has a child. who is in year six they allowed him to make decisions in daily matters. Few months ago their was a support compition in his school, I went their with my friend. That child was the captin of school football team. I was wounder about the startigies which he made during game. The other team was ahead by two goals in first half. But when this child made some importnt decisions and ways of tickling i was literally surprised. Surprsingly, his such efforts mde his team to win the match.
People who believe that allowing children to make decisions it may result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes, because they believe such allowance may cause a sense of dominance in them. They start thinking that they are superior to others. As a result of which, they start thinking that their are wishes become true and they should be allow to make all decisions on their own.
In my opinion children should be allowed to make decisions about matters that affect them. Doing such increases the natrual abilities of children. They become more practical in upcoming life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state a clear opinion: you support children making decisions about matters that affect them. The confidence and leadership points are relevant, and the football-team anecdote gives a specific example of a child applying decision-making skills. However, the opposing view is explained briefly and mainly through the claim that children may feel superior; it would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how everyday choices could encourage selfishness and a relevant example. Some supporting points in the first view also repeat the idea that children make good decisions without fully explaining how this develops them. Develop both sides more evenly and connect each example directly to the question. The response meets the stated length requirement; 71 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure: it introduces the two views, gives a paragraph for each, and ends with your opinion. The football anecdote also provides a sequence of events that is easy to follow. However, progression within paragraphs is often repetitive: confidence, leadership, and handling difficult situations are presented as separate benefits but are not clearly distinguished. Linking phrases such as “Secondly” and “As a result” help, but some connections are awkward or unclear, and the final opinion is very brief. The anecdote also takes up much of the first body paragraph. Group related points, use clearer references between sentences, and give the two views more balanced paragraph development.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “confidence,” “leadership qualities,” “challenging situations,” and “dominance.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and “cope with” is an appropriate phrase. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “make decisions,” “such children,” and “good decisions.” Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “ways of tickling” and “support compition,” which make parts of the anecdote difficult to understand. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “captin,” “wounder,” and “natrual.” Build a wider set of precise expressions for decision-making and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt some longer sentences, including “People who believe that allowing children to make decisions…,” and use basic linking structures to explain causes and results. However, sentence structures are limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several passages difficult to follow. For example, “people who think that it is important for children to make decisions is because” has an incomplete, awkward construction, while “They start thinking that their are wishes become true” contains errors in sentence structure and agreement. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and punctuation, such as “leadership qualities to child” and the fragment “who is in year six.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using controlled subordinate clauses.
