Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In our society where elders wants to impose there lifestyle, mindsets, beleifs and values on their childrens and the one they can control. Its really important for the children to think by their own and it will help them to build there character and they will eventually know what they want to be in their lifes but some people also have some opposite opinions on it.
It can have some negative results , when childrens have all the access to the things they some times get spoiled because they know that their parents gave them all the rights and it can lead to a society of individuals where everyone just thinks about their selves but its just one side of the picture it can get better if the elders and the youngsters both have awareness about the different people mindset , and also we are humans and we have emotions so can never lead to a society full of individuals. Now its on the parents how they upbring their childrens in this modern worls with freedom of whatever they like.
When students have given the choice of things and freedom to choose things on their own tehy feel more confident and they will have a mindset of responsibility because when a person choose for their own selve they are actually being independent. which is a very good skill to survive in this cruel world.
Both opinions can lead to various probelms if not done in a proper way but at the same time if done properly i can lead to a society where youngsters will shape the society in a more structured way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a relevant opinion in favour of children making choices, linking this to character, confidence and independence. You also acknowledge the opposing concern that children may become self-centred or spoiled, so both views are present. However, the discussion is only partial: the concern is asserted rather than explained with a clear example, and the benefits are also broad rather than supported by a specific situation. The final sentence says both approaches can cause problems but does not clearly restate which view you support or under what conditions. Develop each side with a reason and a concrete example, then make your position explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the opening introduces the issue, the next section considers possible negative effects, and a later section explains the benefits of choice. However, progression is not consistently clear. The second paragraph combines several points in one long sequence, and the final paragraph introduces a conclusion without clearly resolving the discussion. Linking phrases such as “but,” “also” and “at the same time” are used, but some connections are vague or repetitive; for example, “it can get better” does not specify what “it” refers to. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and make references and transitions more precise so the reader can follow how each point develops.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, with relevant terms such as “character,” “responsibility” and “independent.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or repetitive, including “things,” “freedom,” and “society of individuals.” Some word choices and collocations make the meaning less natural, such as “think about their selves” and “shape the society in a more structured way.” Spelling errors, including “beleifs,” “probelms” and “worls,” are also noticeable and can distract the reader. Aim for more precise language about decision-making and social behaviour, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, but complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “In our society where elders wants…” is a sentence fragment, while “when a person choose for their own selve” has subject–verb agreement and pronoun-form problems. There are also errors in plurals and agreement, as in “their childrens,” and punctuation problems where full stops and commas are missing or misplaced. Practise building complete sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses accurately. Check subject–verb agreement, plural forms and sentence boundaries during revision.
