Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people are of the opinion that allowing children to make their own choices and decisions on everyday matter like food , clothes and about eating make the society of individuals who just thinking about their own benefits. While other thought that it is useful to allow children to make decisions on matters that are crucial and beneficial for them .
I totally agree with the second opinion about allowing children to make decisions of their choice about the thing they like to do ,to wear or to eat .In this way we can make children well enough in decision making during critical situations of life because this is the main problem which has been seen now a day in your youth that they are feeling difficult in making decisions about their personal life.So giving them a chance of making decisions will be beneficial for them abd for the parents during the upbringing of their children and they will ultimately confident enough to make good decision under unfavourable situations . However if we talk about the other side of the vcion where giving Childers ability to decide something about them would be wrong there are some difficulties that they will face during making decisions like they would make decisions wrong and get demotivated and lose the courage to decide and kept on their elder for life time which is very bad thing for them also this thing will make them cowered, lack of confidence and shyness while talking to someone on decision making .These things may arise if we don't give the right to decide to our children in this way we are doing something bad to them that can't be compansate over the period of time . So in conclusion i would say that giving the choice of decided and think about them during their childhood would become a good thing for them and it doesn't make sense thay they will become someone who juts think about them and make our society cruel woth complete guidance we can make thus approach applicable and easy to use to our children the world that they need from us .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and make your position clear: you support children having choices, arguing that this helps them develop decision-making skills and confidence. The discussion of the opposing view is also relevant, particularly your point that children may make poor decisions and become discouraged. However, the two sides are not developed evenly: the first view is mainly presented as a risk, while the benefits of children’s choices receive more explanation. Some claims, such as children becoming shy or lacking confidence, would be stronger with a specific example and clearer explanation. Your conclusion restates your opinion, but its final point about guidance could be explained more precisely. The response meets the task’s length requirement; eight words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is an identifiable overall structure: you introduce the debate, state your opinion, consider a concern, and conclude. Linking expressions such as “While,” “However,” and “So in conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the response is presented as one continuous block, so the stages of the argument are difficult to distinguish. Several sentences are very long and combine multiple points, especially the discussion beginning “However if we talk about the other side,” which makes the progression hard to follow. Some connections are also unclear, such as the shift from children making mistakes to becoming shy. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each view, and the conclusion, and make each sentence develop one main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “decision making,” “critical situations,” “upbringing,” and “unfavourable situations.” These choices show an attempt to discuss abstract benefits and risks, rather than relying only on basic terms. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “decisions,” “children,” and “make,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “make our society cruel,” “kept on their elder,” and “the world that they need from us.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “compansate” and “cowered,” also affect clarity. Aim for precise phrases such as “rely on adults” and “develop independence,” and check spelling and collocations during editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if,” and “while.” This gives you some variety, and the main position is generally understandable. However, many sentences contain several clauses joined together without clear punctuation, which makes grammatical relationships difficult to follow. There are also errors in verb forms and agreement, for example “individuals who just thinking” and “they will ultimately confident,” where the verb structures are incomplete. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “everyday matter” and “make good decision.” Break long sentences into shorter units, check that each clause has a complete verb, and review subject–verb agreement and article use.
