Student answer (Band 5.5)
Although children are usually naive and they represent what they observed from their surroundings. While this matter is always been a contentious issue, whether we should permit our children to make their own choices or not. Certain people argue that if we allow our kids to make their own choices, consequently it can make them selfish . However, others believe that permitting your children for this, can be benefitical for them particularly regarding the decision making capability. In this essay I will explain why I am convinced that we should admire our kids to make their own choices especially those on regular staff followed by discussing both perspectives.
On the one hands, its our responsibility to teach our children to take care of other people desires. If they become arrogant and flamboyant, it is not because we give them right to choice whatever they want. We should give them the right to make right choice that will be pleasant and convenient for everyone. Giving them right to choice on regular matters cannot make them selfish regardless we teach them. Conversely, it can make them timid and suppressed.
On the other hand, children build several traits in their personality when we permit them to make their own choice, they gain confidence which subsequently make them self-assurred person in future. Additionally, they learn discipline through it. Futhermore, when they interact with other people, they make their communication skills stronger which assist them to be gregarious. Moreover, children can make big decision of their life which will definately help them to choice a better career in future by allowing them to make choice on daily matter such as what they want to eat, what sort of outfit they prefer, and what kind of pursuits they enjoy most.
From my viewpoint, I tend to agree with this statement that permitting your children to make their own choice is not a problematic thing especially for their everyday matters. In fact, it would be pragmatic approach to make your child confident enough that he can make his own decisions.
In conclusion, allowing your children to make their daily choices is crucial for their better upbring that eventually develop several positive characteristics in them, including decision making ability .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and make your own position clear: you argue that children should be allowed to make everyday choices, while adults should teach them to consider others. The discussion of confidence and independence is relevant, and the examples of food, clothing and hobbies connect directly to the prompt. However, the opposing view is not fully explained: you mention that children might become selfish, but do not show how everyday choices could encourage self-centred behaviour. Some claims, such as children becoming better communicators or choosing a future career through daily decisions, are asserted rather than supported. Develop each side with a specific explanation or example, and clarify the limits of children’s choices.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two perspectives, your opinion and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, particularly in the long sequence “Additionally… Furthermore… Moreover.” Some sentences also combine several ideas without showing their relationship clearly, such as the sentence beginning “On the other hand, children build several traits…” Use fewer, more purposeful connectors and divide complex points into clearer steps. Ensure that references such as “this statement” identify the view being discussed precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of vocabulary related to the topic, including “contentious issue,” “decision making capability,” “confidence” and “suppressed.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “admire our kids to make” does not express your intended meaning, while “regular staff” appears to mean everyday matters. Other examples include “self-assurred,” “benefitical,” “upbring” and “choice” where “choose” is needed. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding ambitious words; checking spelling and word forms would make your ideas clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “when,” “which” and “although,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some sentence structures and grammatical patterns are inaccurate. The opening fragment, “Although children are usually naive…,” is not completed as a full sentence, and “While this matter is always been…” has an incorrect verb form. There are also errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “which subsequently make them,” and punctuation problems, including spaces before full stops. Practise building complete sentences and checking verb forms, subject–verb agreement and clause boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would make your complex ideas easier to follow.
