Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both perspectives and state a clear preference in the conclusion: children’s freedom to decide is beneficial overall. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons, including confidence and learning from mistakes, while the second recognises concerns about selfishness and poor decisions. However, the response only partially fulfils the task because these ideas are brief and not fully explained; the claim about “70% of the melbone studemts” is unclear and unsupported. Your opening also does not clearly introduce the specific issue, and the conclusion asserts that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks without weighing them in detail. The response is 244 words, six words below the required minimum. Develop each view with a clear explanation and a relevant, credible example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “To commence with” and “On the other hand” help readers identify the shift between arguments, and the conclusion returns to your position. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because ideas are compressed or linked unclearly. For example, “To easy tackle all the situations” is detached from the preceding sentence, while “that thing imoact whole life” does not clearly connect the claim to its consequence. Some transitions are mechanical, and the opening does not establish a clear line of argument. Use complete sentences, connect each reason to its explanation, and make references such as “that thing” precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt some topic-related and less common vocabulary, including “confident,” “menace,” “lucrative,” and “selfish,” and you use contrastive phrases to present the two views. However, the range is limited and many word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make meaning difficult to understand. Phrases such as “bog change,” “take the decision in hood way,” and “pros of this notion outplay the cons by its miles” are unclear or unnatural. Misspellings such as “chold,” “thier,” and “studemts” also reduce clarity. Aim for accurate, natural expressions rather than ornate wording: for example, say that children “develop confidence” or “learn from their mistakes.” Proofread carefully and choose vocabulary whose meaning you can control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional idea about children making decisions and learning from failure. However, the range is limited, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty, so readers must work to interpret several sentences. For example, “They are more confident to make thier decisions its is not difficult for them to face…” joins clauses without correct punctuation or structure. The opening sentence also has a missing space after the full stop, and “some of argue” lacks a grammatical subject structure. Sentence boundaries, articles, and clause construction need more consistent control. Practise writing one clear main clause at a time, then add subordinate clauses with accurate connectors and punctuation.
